Tulsa, Oklahoma's Philbrook Museum of Art is an art museum.

History
The Philbrook Museum of Art has been open to the public since 1939 in an Italian Renaissance-style building that was once the home of businessman Mr. and Mrs. Waits Phillips. The Philbrook House, designed by architect Edward Buehler Dirk, began construction in 1926 and was completed the following year. Villa Philbrook was a 72-room mansion spread across 23 acres. Waite Phillips donated the mansion to the city of Tulsa for cultural purposes in 1938. [2] The Philbrook Museum of Art opened to the public in 1939. [2] In 1940, an art studio was added, followed by a children's museum in 1949.
