Taichung Park

Taichung Park

Taichung Park (Chinese:; pinyin: Taizhng gngyuán) is an urban park located in Taichung's North District. This is Taichung's oldest park. It was built during the Japanese occupation of Taiwan and was known as "Zhongshan Park" (; " Sun Yat-sen Park ").

History
The park was originally known as Nakanoshima ken (Japanese: Hepburn: Nakanoshima ken?) and was constructed in 1903 during the Japanese colonial period. The Taichung City Government designated it as a city historic site on April 17, 1999. Lantern festivals have become popular in Taichung Park in recent years.
