Delaware Art Museum

The Delaware Art Museum is a museum of fine arts in Wilmington, Delaware.

History
The Wilmington Society of Fine Arts was founded in 1912 in honour of Wilmington native Howard Pyle. The collection began with over 100 works purchased from Pyle's widow. The Pre-Raphaelites collection was later donated by Samuel Bancroft.


The American Association of Museums recognized it in 1972 and renamed it the Delaware Art Museum.
Collection
It is well-known for its collection of American art and illustrations from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, as well as British Pre-Raphaelites.

WED: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
THURSDAY: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
10 a.m. - 4 p.m., FRI - SUN
MONDAY AND TUESDAY:


Museum members pay no admission; adults pay $14.
$7 for students (with valid ID).
$6 for youth (ages 7 to 18).
Children aged 6 and under are FREE.
