Pilgrim Hall Museum

Pilgrim Hall Museum

The Pilgrim Hall Museum, founded in 1824 in Plymouth, Massachusetts, is the country's oldest continually functioning public museum. It is administered by the Pilgrim Fathers Society, which was created in 1820 and is dedicated to the history of the Pilgrim Fathers and the Plymouth Colony. It houses craft items as well as a library and archives. Alexander Parris designed the structure.
Visit Pilgrim Hall Museum! The Pilgrim Society was created in 1820 to preserve Plymouth's distinctive heritage, and the Pilgrim Hall Museum opened to the public in 1824. It is the country's oldest continually functioning public museum and America's museum of Pilgrim belongings. The unique collection of 17th century items at Pilgrim Hall, some of which really arrived on the Mayflower, reveals the tale of early Plymouth Colony. It's an intimate narrative about families, different cultures, and bravery in the face of adversity. It is, in many respects, the narrative of America's beginnings.

I welcome you to browse our website, learn about our exhibitions and activities, and delve into the Pilgrims' very fascinating, complicated, and often unexpected history.
I hope you'll be motivated to visit Plymouth and the Pilgrim Hall Museum for yourself - there's no better way to learn about America's founding.
