John Gorrie Museum State Park

The John Gorrie State Museum is a Florida State Park in Apalachicola, just off US Highway 98. It honors the man who was a pioneer in the development of air conditioning and received the first U.S. In 1851, a patent for mechanical refrigeration was issued. 46 Sixth Street is the address.


Admission and operating hours
The visitor center is open daily beginning at 9:00 a.m. up to 5:00 p.m. From Thursday to Monday. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day are all holidays when the center is closed. The entrance fee is $2.00 per person.


PLANNING YOUR VISIT
The majority of Florida's state parks open at 8 a.m. Every day of the year, from sunrise to sunset. Museums, visitor centers, and historic sites may be closed two days a week, with varying hours.
