Natural History Museum of the University of Colorado
The University of Colorado Museum of Natural History is a natural history museum located in Boulder, Colorado. The museum houses one of the most extensive and respected natural history collections in the Rocky Mountain and Plains regions, with over four million artefacts and specimens in anthropology, botany, entomology, palaeontology, and zoology, making it one of the top university natural science museums in the country. The American Alliance of Museums accredited the University of Colorado Museum in 2003.
Judge Junius Henderson was chosen as the museum's first curator in 1902. The University of Colorado Museum is located in the Henderson Building on the University of Colorado Boulder campus. The Museum is conveniently located downtown Boulder, on the University of Colorado campus, in the Henderson Building, next to the University Memorial Center, just off Broadway St. Several RTD buses stop nearby, and visitor parking is available at the Euclid AutoPark, which is about a half-block south on Broadway.
